Lost Treasure Tips
One thing that anyone seasoned in anything will tell you; experience counts. And hunting for lost treasures is no different! We have compiled a list of “instant wisdom” to pass along to new and experienced treasure hunters alike. Here is our collective starting out tips in hunting for lost treasure.
Research the Treasure
What seems like common sense, we believe this is the most overlooked aspect of successful treasure hunting. Perhaps no other venture is quite as reliant on research as treasure hunting, and it’s a compliment to anyone reading this website that you’ve probably already accepted the reality of this fact.
Treasure Hunting Goals
While research is probably the most determining factor in treasure hunting success, one must not overlook the goals aspect. Is your goal to find a couple of coins on a Florida beach on a lazy afternoon stroll? Or to recover the infamous Amber Room from it’s hidden resting place? It’s important to align your goals with your expectations regularly, to make sure that your quest for lost treasure doesn’t become a frustrating venture.
Treasure Hunting Equipment
Whether you hit the field with a $100 metal detector or $5000 worth of cutting-edge gear, it’s up to you. Think about whether it would bother you to lose money in your hunting for lost treasure, or to put it another way is the fun of the whole experience worth spending a substantial amount up front? If the answer is no, it’s probably best to go in budget-minded, and only upgrade your treasure hunting equipment once you are finding treasure of some value.
Mindset of the Treasure Hunter
Perhaps the most important tip of all in hunting for lost treasure is to keep things in perspective. Make sure you always view treasure hunting as it should be viewed - a recreational endeavor that’s both exciting and rewarding, any treasures recovered aside. A treasure hunter should always keep in mind the environment, respect for land owners and governmental restrictions, and fellowship with fellow seekers. When one is walking through nature, breathing fresh air and getting great exercise at the same time….is it possible to lose? Truth is, hunting for lost treasure is a can’t-lose endeavor, whether you strike it rich or decide to generously leave all the treasure in the field for the next hunter!
